The HI9147-04 utilizes a galvanic measuring system, eliminating the need for external polarization voltage and allowing for immediate measurements. The probe features a silver cathode and zinc anode with replaceable high-density polyethylene (HDPE) membrane caps, ensuring durability and ease of maintenance. Oxygen diffuses through the membrane, generating a current proportional to the dissolved oxygen concentration.
Equipped with automatic temperature compensation via a built-in thermistor sensor, the meter ensures accurate readings across varying temperatures. It also includes adjustable salinity compensation (0 to 51 g/L) for accurate measurements in brackish and seawater, and altitude compensation up to 4000 meters for precise results at different elevations.
Calibration is simple with a manual one-point calibration system, making the meter easy to operate in both field and laboratory settings. The replaceable membrane caps feature a convenient screw design for quick replacement using HI7042 electrolyte solution.
